WINNER of the David Bellamy Conservation Gold Award for environmental excellence
Our caravan park has always been developed in sympathy with the environment, a fact recognised by our 9 David Bellamy Gold Conservation Awards (2001-2009). Find out more about what the David Bellamy Conservation Awards says about us.
Our aim at The Old Oaks is to minimise our impact on resources while enhancing the environment around us for the benefit of all and we are very proud to have received our 2009 Gold Award.
Some of the things we've done around the park this year to achieve this are:
- Hedge laying by James
- Creation of log piles to encourage wildlife
- Construction of a hibernaculum
- New bird boxes
- Sowing of wild flower seeds
Extensive planting of native trees, shrubs and hedging over the years has helped to create a peaceful, green sanctuary for both people and wildlife alike.
From foxes and badgers to the abundance of birds and butterflies, the park is teaming with life. A perfect destination for your environmentally friendly holidays.
We have a Victorian style reed bed to filter waste water from the amenity block in a natural, chemical free way whilst providing an excellent habitat for wildlife.
There are recycling points for almost all types of waste, situated around the park, which we encourage our customers to use as much as possible, ensuring green holidays for all.
