Brand New Shower & Amenities Block - now due for completion late Spring 2012
Our shiny new block will be situated at the entrance to Top Oaks, on what were formally pitches 22 and 23 (see site map). This will mean that guests pitched in Top and Lower Oaks will no longer have such a trek to the toilet block, as has been the case in the past. We are fully aware that our existing block has struggled to keep up with the demands placed on it during busy periods over the last couple of years and when the work is completed, there will be almost 3 times the facilities available.
The new block will incorporate the use of renewable energy sources such as solar panels, under-floor heating and a heat exchange system. There will be 7 individual unisex shower rooms, a fully equipped accessible shower room, as well as separate ladies and mens shower and toilet sections. A second laundry room and dishwashing area will also be provided.
Information for guests visiting from Feb 2012 to May 2012
Work on the block will be ongoing during this period. By March we anticipate that the roof will be complete and the scaffold will be down. We hope that all exterior work, including stone work will be complete by Easter and from then on all work will be inside the building, causing the minimum of noise.
All of the Top Oaks pitches will be blocked off and out of action until Easter. Pitches in the Walnut Terraces which back onto the hedge behind the construction site will also not be used until this time.
We regret we are unable to give a definite completion date as past experience has shown that even the best laid plans don't always work out. We very much appreciate the understanding shown by our guests regarding any inconvenience resulting from this new build. It will all be worth it in the end!
