royal bath and west show 2012

29th May - 1st June - Royal Bath & West Show - Shepton Mallet. The country's biggest rural festival and there really is something for everyone, from food lovers to families and farmers to fashionistas! Over 600 trade stands to the National Cheese Awards and the UK’s biggest cider competition. Chance to experience canoeing, visit an art exhibition, sample some of the best British produce, see birds of prey in the or watch some of the finest animals in the country.

14th June - Somerset legends, The Wurzels, are to rock Glastonbury Abbey with a fund-raising gig to help the Rescue Our Ruins Appeal. The Wurzels, whose hits include Combine Harvester, Cider Drinker and Morning Glory, will be playing at the Abbey on June 14 2013.

22nd & 23rd June - Rock, Gem & Bead Show - Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet. ROCKS, MINERALS,FOSSILS, GEMSTONES, GEM-SET jewellery, LAPIDARY, HEALING or any other facet of this wonderful and fascinating subject are all available at ROCK 'n' GEM shows. If you are a serious collector or a hobbyist, a geologist or lapidarist, a Club member or Professional, then ROCK 'n' GEM shows have something for you !!!

yeovilton internation air day 2012

13th July - RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day - RNAS Yeovilton. Few events can rival the intensity, drama and spectacle on offer at the Royal Navy’s premier air show.  The Air Day, one of the Southwest’s largest one day events, will return this summer with an action-packed day out for all the family.  Alongside the thrilling flying display there’s plenty to see and do on the ground – so whether you’re a wide-eyed first timer or a seasoned air show veteran, the experience will be incredible.

30th July to 4th Aug - Glastonbury Goddess Conference - Glastonbury Town Hall (& other venues around Glastonbury). Transformational Experience, which takes place over five enthralling days (or nine including Fringe events). Priestesses, Presenters & Participants journey together through Sacred Ceremony, Talks, Workshops, Performances & Sacred Drama, moving more and more deeply into the Heart of the Mysteries of the Great Mother. Together we will explore who She is in our lives, and Her generous gifts of Life, Fertility, Love, Creativity & Abundance.

taunton flower show 2012

2nd & 3rd Aug - Taunton Flower Show is the premiere event of its type in the south-west and is a firm part of summer calendar in Taunton. Held in the centre of Somerset's county town in the historic Vivary Park, the show is not only a traditional British flower show but includes attractions for the whole family. From exciting arena events to the the spectacular floral marquee, the absorbing child's play area and Chelsea-style designer gardens, the show appeals to all ages.

16th Aug - Romeo & Juliet at Glastonbury Abbey. Open air performance. Festival Players Theatre Company perform the last summer theatre of the year. Expect a fantastic performance of one of Shakespeare's most famous works

24th & 25th Aug - Glastonbury Wool and Alpaca Festival. Each year we commence with our annual sheep and alpaca run down our High Street and always offer different additions to the event each year. This year we are offering the Rare Breed Society and Shetland Breed Societies with their exhibitions and a demonstrator’s hall. In addition we are hosting a produce fair on Sunday with many local producers that use Sheep and alpaca products!

12th Sept - Wells Night on The Town - Now in it's 5th year, this fabulous evening event offers a wealth of music and entertainment around the wonderful cit of Wells. Fantastic outdoor party for everyone.

motorhome show 2012

13th - 15th Sept - The Motorhome Show - Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet. The September Motorhome Show at the Royal Bath & West Showground has developed into one of the biggest motorhome events in europe. As well as being an amazing exhibition of motorhomes and accessories it is also a huge gathering for all the major motorhome clubs and a fantastic weekend even for the casual motorhomer.

15th Sept - Happy Landings Dog Show - Dog and fun day run by charity Happy Landings. 11am to 4pm at Pylle Hill, Pylle, Shepton Mallet. A fund day out including dog show, demonstrations, stalls, refreshments, animal heating and pet portraits.

26th October - Glastonbury Zombie Walk - Starts at the Crown in Glastonbury High Street. More information on their facebook page here

glastonbury carnival 2012

16th Nov - Glastonbury Carnival. Glastonbury & Guy Fawkes Carnival is one of the largest illuminated carnivals in the world which does not fail to astound 30,000 spectators every year. Their applause, cheers of delight and amazement prove just how fantastic this show is. Visit once and you'll want to see it again and again.
