Information for all guests staying at Old Oaks

**Updated 10th April 21** A little bit of good news. A last minute change to guidance for campsites, now states that campsites ARE allowed to open toilets and washing facilities (but not showers). Good news for guests, however, please bear with us while we get this organised 🙂
The new situation will be as follows:
To allow us time to prepare and work with our current staffing levels, the following facilities will be CLOSED UNTIL 16TH APRIL: Showers / toilets / dog shower / tourist information / laundry / dishwashing & pool room.
What facilities will be available on 12th – 15th?
Reception / fully stocked shop / chemical disposal / camper clean machine / hot food 7 nights a week. All toilets and showers will be closed.
What additional facilities will be open on 16th April?
Mens and ladies sections at Middle Oaks block (total of 9 toilets & + laundry + dish washing) + dog washing. Due to staff levels, individual shower rooms will remain closed for now. Showers and tourist information room are NOT permitted to be used until 17/5 (under current guideline).
From Mon 19th April
Very luckily for us, our new cleaning & maintenance couple, who were due to start work on 17th May, are able to come early. Hooray! And so this means that we will be open more toilets and basins (at the Orchard block) on Monday 19th April. Showers and tourist information room are NOT permitted to be used until 17/5 (under current guideline). More facilities may become available over the following weeks, but will still be at a reduced number.
NB: We are still requesting that everyone who is able to use their own facilities, should do so, as this is the safest thing to do currently.
What facilities will be available on 12th?
Reception / fully stocked shop / chemical disposal / camper clean machine / hot food 7 nights a week / fishing pond / motorhome service point
~ We are encouraging all guests to download and use the NHS Covid19 track and trace app from the smart phone app store.
~ In 2021, parks are required, by law, to ‘ask every customer or visitor to scan the NHS QR code (available on arrival at Old Oaks) using their NHS COVID-19 app or provide the name and contact details, not just the lead member of the group’.
~ If you are due to arrive in April, you will receive a balance reminder email 10 days before arrival. After April, when we know for sure that it’s all systems go, balance reminders will be sent earlier (around 20 days before arrival). Balances should be paid via the link in the email. This applies to all guests and will mean that check in can be contactless to protect guests and staff.
~ Approx 5 days before arrival, you’ll receive another email which will contain lots of information and documents for you to print at home. Please see our digital downloads page for all of this information.
~ 3 days before arrival, you will receive another email which will ask you to ‘check-in’ digitally. You will be asked to confirm that you don’t have any Covid-19 symptoms, ask you to check your booking, pay any balances, add any extras, confirm your vehicle reg, give details of arrival times, etc.
There will be a slight change to the time that guests can arrive, to reduce bottlenecks and tailbacks on the driveway. You will be informed by email 3 days before arrival.
~ Arrive at entrance as usual (touring on the left at the top of the drive, glamping in the car park in front of reception)
~ Touring guests, please wait in your vehicle before the security barrier (about 1 metre back from the white line, so that the barrier does not open)
~ Storage customers may enter the park, no earlier than 1pm, but ONLY if they have had their pitch number confirmed prior to arrival (this will be stated at the online check-in stage)
~ Text our duty phone number 07910 505066 to let us know you’re here (not storage)
~ All guest to have their NHS Covid19 app open (if you have it and are willing to use it) and ready to scan our QR code
~ Warden will take you to your pitch or accommodation in a socially distanced manner
~ Reduced hours in shop & reception. 9am to 7pm. Lunch 12 noon to 12.30pm
~ Glamping accommodation keys will be sanitised and provided in an envelope with your wifi code on arrival (premium wifi is for shepherd huts and lodges only).
~ Keys to be deposited in the new drop box outside reception on departure
~ All guests are requested to leave windows open and on the latch on departure (weather permitting).
What we’re doing to reduce the spread of infection
~ Regular workplace Covid testing for all staff
~ Enhanced cleaning regime
~ Measures to reduce as much person to person contact as possible
~ Plenty of hand sanitiser around the park
~ Additional signage to remind guests to respect social distancing at all times
~ Face coverings must be worn in all inside, shared areas
What guests can do
~ Enjoy their caravan/accommodation and the area of their pitch and public footpaths/ cycle routes through and around the park
~ Walk freely on the park, at all times observing social distance from other park users and staff
~ Support our local community and businesses by downloading our Click and Collect app (HOPT).
~ Pre-order food boxes and local supplies from our shop, which can be collected at the park
~ Use our food takeaway services and food vans at the park, 7 nights a week* (print order forms and menus at home) to reduce reliance on and congestion in, local outlets
~ Place takeaway orders via email firstname.lastname@example.org. Or take your paper orders to
reception. Payments can be made via contactless card app at reception or via an online
payment link (at your request)
~ Please, at all times, show consideration and respect for our local community and observe social distancing
Please do not
~ Meet or gather with friends in a large social group, unless permitted by current government guidelines
~ Invite or entertain visitors from outside the park until 17th May at the earliest
~ Allow people from outside your household into your accommodation (or in accordance with latest guidelines)
On departure, please:
~ Glamping ~ Leave windows open on the latch (unless it is very windy / rainy)
~ Glamping ~ Place any used sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers in the bags provided
~ Glamping ~ Drop your key back into the key drop box outside reception
~ All ~ Inform us (electronically or by phone) if you are experiencing symptoms when you return home so that we can take any necessary steps
~ Please do not visit us if you or any member of your household have Covid19 symptoms
~ Please respect social distance in all contacts inside and outside the park
~ Wear a face covering every time you visit the shop, reception and all shared indoor spaces
~ Please show consideration to our local community. Local relationships are important to us and some are understandably apprehensive about the potential impacts of returning visitors
~ No social gatherings of more than the current recommended number
~ We strongly urge guests to use the facilities in their own units wherever possible to reduce the risks of virus spread
~ Our team are our most precious asset, without whom the park will need to close, so please do refrain from prolonged interactions, so that everyone can feel safe and remain healthy
~ If you feel unwell at any time, with symptoms of Covid19, you must leave the park immediately, without interacting with anyone else. You should then contact the park as soon as possible to let us know
