Dog pond improvements for 2024 – completion by April
Here at Old Oaks, we know that your pet is part of the family and that leaving them behind when you go on holiday is simply not an option! We welcome well-behaved dogs and responsible owners to stay with us to enjoy their dog friendly holidays in Somerset! All our pitches are dog friendly (max of 3) and our range of great facilities and glamping accommodation means we are one of the most popular destinations for dog friendly holidays in Somerset!
To ensure a pleasant stay for all guests at Old Oaks, please read our updated
DOG POLICY FOR 2024 (click on text).
We have many dedicated doggy services on site including a free local guide to dog friendly dining and days out, a 300 metre, secure dog walk, where they can run free and meet new friends, plus a new 3 acre field (next to original dog walk), a dog shower with hot water and free shampoo and a dedicated washing machine and dryer for your dog bedding and blankets. There are a few ‘dog stops’ where you can park your pooch, while you go about your business, plus doggy cream ice and home-baked dog treats. Plus loads of toys, treats, collars, food and all manner of dog paraphernalia available in our shop.
Our new dog swimming pond has been reshaped and revamped for 2024 and is now open! This is located at the bottom of the new, large dog field. Dog Pond 2.0 is more of a beach vibe and allows all dogs to get in and paddle (or launch themselves in) much more easily.

Dog Information at Old Oaks
Welcoming responsible dog owners
All dog owners, please read our policy on dogs at Old Oaks.
A polite reminder to our customers who bring their pets/dogs on holiday…
Whilst we welcome dogs to the Old Oaks, and have taken great care to provide the best of facilities for dogs, we are a tranquil park for dog owners and non-dog owners alike. All of our guests expect and deserve a peaceful holiday.
Dogs that cause excessive noise (constant barking, prolonged periods of barking), display aggressive behaviour, and owners who neglect cleaning up after their pets will be reminded of their obligations to our other guests and to the park. So please, if your dog is likely to bark at every passing guest or their dogs, we are unable to accommodate you.
We ask that all dogs are kept on a short lead (not extendable) when out and about around the park, unless using the dog exercise area, when they can run free to their hearts content 🙂 Dogs will need to be secured to within the confines of your own pitch and may not be allowed to wander elsewhere. On the rare occasions this happens, this can be distressing for other guests and dogs and can result in unwanted ‘deposits’ being left behind.
It’s important to note that we ask guests not to leave their pets unattended on the pitch when they leave the park or their pitch for any length of time, if there is any chance that the dog may become distressed or cause a problem for other guests. Occasionally, owners are unaware that this happens due to them being in an unfamiliar environment.
We also ask that all owners do a visual check of their pitch area before leaving to ensure that the next guest doesn’t get any unwanted surprises!
We do reserve the right to refuse customers or ask them leave the Old Oaks should their behaviour disrupt the tranquillity of the park and/or prove a nuisance to other guests.
