The Somerset Carnivals are highly regarded as the largest illuminated procession in the world.
The carnivals take place every November in Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, Glastonbury, North Petherton, Shepton Mallet, Wells, and Weston-Super-Mare. The next Bridgwater Carnival will be on Sat 1st Nov 2025.
The Somerset County carnivals are one of the most spectacular events in the county. Bridgwater Carnival is one of the most widely recognised and it regularly attracts crowds of 150,000. Take a look at the video below to get a feel for the action…
Why Bridgwater and not Glastonbury Carnival?
You might be wondering why, if our park is so near Glastonbury Carnival, that we’re promoting Bridgwater Carnival? Well, they’re both amazing events in their own right, however, our campsite gets booked up several months in advance for Glastonbury and so in order to give more people the opportunity to experience one of Somerset’s oldest and more incredible nights, we’re running coaches from Old Oaks to Bridgwater this year.
Getting from Old Oaks to Bridgwater carnival
Bridgwater is under 15 miles from Old Oaks, however with most routes into the town being closed off by 4.30pm*, it’s important to get there early, if you want a parking space, as the town will be very busy. Or you could save yourself all the worry of heavy traffic and parking issues by jumping on our Bridgwater Carnival coach so that they can really enjoy the carnival atmosphere, and maybe indulge in a glass or two of the local tipple.
Our coaches leave at 3.45pm. Coaches return at approx 10.30 / 11pm. Book the coach here.
Where to stay?
Our spacious 88 all-weather touring and camping pitches are perfect for your caravan, tent, motorhome or camper, plus a variety of glamping accommodation; that coupled with our state of the art shower and toilet block facilities, Middle Oaks, will make Old Oaks the perfect base for your Bridgwater Carnival weekend away. Please note that there is a 2 night minimum stay for this weekend.
